You As the Projector, the World as Your Screen

Thoughts become things. Your beliefs determine your outcomes. Your perceptions shape the way you experience your reality. You are the creator and knowing this is a step towards taking back your power to empowered living according to your terms.

This is my first blog back after a few years of being in the quiet pause. I decided to start back again, and allow my mind to channel and express some introspection to deepen awareness and embody soul-led living.

I’m going to start this next blog series with an idea that requires a certain level of radical responsibility and acceptance. Being at a place where you have the ability to take some introspect on your life. Although this concept may, at first, feel as if there’s an extra burden being placed upon your shoulders for all the wrongs that have been done through your life, this will ultimately set you free. Not only free from your own heartache and remnants of the collections of resentments built over the years, but free from the anchors of your past. This is where you gain your unshakable empowerment back to self, where instead of being a passenger at the mercy of where life takes you, you learn how to step fully into the driver’s seat and take back your power.

Here it is.

I’m even going to soften it a bit with starting this off as, ‘what if’. What if, your experiences are a projection of what you are holding within?

You may have heard this before, “as within, so without”. I’m going to spend some time to dive into this deeper.

From a psychological standpoint, we already know that your interpretation of an experience will determine the way you experience that experience. Interpretation is subjective. It is based on previous life’s experiences that shape the way you perceive your current environment. You can think of this as “mental pictures” that you develop based on previous events. This takes place within the subconscious mind, where it holds onto and remembers those past experiences, and creates a mental picture that represents the beliefs, ideas and interpretations you developed as a result of that past event. These mental pictures become similar to a freeze framed image in the mind, that your current experiences are then

filtered through. This filter has the ability to accept, distort or delete information within the environment in order to shape it according to what the beliefs within it are. This is why you could have two people experience the exact same experience, yet understand it and respond to it in very different ways. Their reaction is based on the subconscious ‘story’ or mental picture they hold that relates to that current experience.

The event happens, the mind interprets the event based on previous experiences and mental images, the perception is made about the event, which then pushes out the event to be experienced within the framework of those internal mental pictures.

I’m going to take this another step further and move this to the spiritual side. As within, so without. Thoughts become things. You create your reality.

Take, for example, a time you were shopping for a new car. I’ll use the example of a white jeep. You search for white jeeps online. You take one for a test drive. You talk about it, think about, emotionalize with the idea of the having of it. As you do, what do you notice begins to happen? White jeeps are everywhere, while driving, in the parking lot, they show up in your feed. This isn’t because there are suddenly more white jeeps in the world. What happens here is you have set your mind on the idea of a white jeep. It is then the job of your mind to bring your awareness to the things in your environment that are, or resemble the white jeep.

This goes the same for any belief, assumption or expectation you have set in your mind. Whatever ideas you resonate with the most, are the things your mind will draw your attention to. Even the subconscious thoughts. Your mind is the bridge between what you think and what you see as part of your physical experience.

You don’t attract what you want necessarily, you attract what you resonate with. If you resonate with the things that you want, then you will attract what you want. If there’s a part of you that doesn’t believe it’s possible, or if you’re holding onto other beliefs that contradict your reasons or worthiness or abilities in the having of it, then energetically, this cannot come into form for you. This includes the wanted and unwanted. As you are left unaware to what those deeper embedded beliefs are, can leave you feeling at the mercy of your environment. It doesn’t have to be this way. There is a way to take back your power. That power is through the mind, your beliefs and your thoughts. This ties very closely with your assumptions and expectations. Even the subconscious ones that are within the shadows, hiding behind or within some of the more deeper embedded beliefs, or inner-child.

This is where you can use your environment and experiences as information, data that you collect, in order to become aware of the deeper beliefs and assumptions you are holding within. The awareness certainly is key, but it’s not enough. As a first step, becoming the observer of your environment, enables you to begin to take closer inventory to the things you may be holding onto that are simply not serving you. This is where the deeper, inner-child work begins to happen.

Perhaps the disappointments, setbacks and heartbreaks are there for you. As a mirror held in front of you showing your inner-wounding that you may not have realized before. From this perspective, and taking into account what was just discussed as far as you being the creator of your reality by way of projecting your perceptions onto your environment, this is where you truly begin to take your power back.

Life isn’t happening to you. People are not out to hurt you. You are not victim and wronged by others. Once you begin to shift your perspective to seeing these hurtful moments as the gateway to your most inner-self and all the parts of you that need to come to the surface, is where the healing begins.

Have there been certain patterns that have showed up in your life? Perhaps a patterns with relationships, relationship with money even, or your health and body?

Have you experienced the same outcomes even though you tried to make conscious effort to do things different? If this is something you have noticed, this is where you can begin to go deeper, beyond the physical experience of what is being shown to you, and take a look within.

What are the beliefs you hold about that thing? How far back do you remember forming an idea of that? Is there a belief you have about yourself in relation to that? Or, is there an old wound, resentment or hurt that continues to show itself? This is all information for you to use so that you can break the pattern and create something new.

Speak into existence what you do want. Act from that place. Assume the having of it. There are many tools there to help you “reprogram” the mind to think different thoughts, such as affirmations, prayer, meditation and of course hypnosis.
