Timelines, Shifting Energy, The Elevator Metaphor
You are not where you used to be, yet not quite arrived at where you are going. This is the in-between. The space where you realize there are changes that need to be made, but are not sure how or what that looks like. As you are going through this internal shifting, you may begin to feel misplaced, or some people describe a feeling of being lost, or disconnected with them self. There could also be this overall feeling of dissatisfaction or unfulfillment. Maybe even a feeling of going through the motions of the day without any true motivation or inspiration.

Relationships may feel disconnected with more misunderstandings and increased in conflict. People may actually physically leave, either by a sudden separation over conflict or just a general feeling of misalignment that slowly dissolves the connection over time.
Now, this is where you can work towards accepting the idea that we are always in a state of constant motion, just as all energy is. Our thoughts and emotions as the current, and the somatic responses within our body as the channel between our intuition and feeling. This is all energy. It is not tangible, something that can be seen or quantified, but rather, a feeling we hold within our body that translates into meaning through our mind and thoughts. It is these expressed feelings that manifest in our outer world through the things we physically see and experience. Throughout this process, there is constant movement. Our thoughts and beliefs provide the direction of how those manifestations show up.
As you are in this in-between state, there naturally has to be space cleared within that energetic channel, in order to allow in the new that is trying to make its way into your reality. It’s like trying to pull a tug-of- war rope on two ends. This results in a push-pull type of energy dynamic that keeps you in a wobble state in the middle. By releasing one end, you can then place your attention on the other, allowing all your strength and power focused on the other end, making this a far more effective distribution of energy.
Think of it this way.

You are on the ground level of a building and waiting for the elevator to go up to the second floor. As the elevator approaches and opens its doors, you get on the elevator and as you do, you are taking everything you own with you, along with all the people in your life. You soon realize that the elevator is so full of all your stuff, as well as too many people to fit, that the doors are not able to close. You simply brought too much stuff with you. So, you begin to purge. Using your discernment, you decide on the things that you need to take with you, and those that you don’t.
You make decisions around the people who are coming with you and those who aren’t. You continue this process until you are within the elevator’s weight capacity. The doors close and you then begin to ascend.
Before reaching the second floor, you first go through the in-between floors. This is where there is seemingly no exit. No activity happening around you. It’s silence and if you were to open the door, you would be met with the dark chamber, unable to go anywhere. In this space, all you can do is wait, and surrender to knowing that there is movement happening, as well as trust that it is going in the right direction. There’s a part of you that doesn’t question this. You just know and have faith that it is working as it should be and getting you safely to the next floor. As you approach the second floor, there are signs that indicate you are getting close. The elevator slows down, there may be sounds you hear as it prepares to stop, and then there’s a momentary pause just before the doors open. As they do, you are met with a new environment. Perhaps different furnishings, decor on the walls, new structures around. Most importantly, there are new people. People that were not on the ground floor. These are people you would not have seen had you stayed where you were, holding onto all the stuff and people you tried to bring with you. As you exit the elevator, you notice different hallways
and rooms that you had not seen before. There appears to be new opportunities all around that you are now becoming more aware of.
Keep this in mind as you are going through life. A part of your natural human need, is to experience growth and expansion. Again, because as energy being in constant motion, it feels better to move in the direction of growth, rather than feeling as though we are going backwards. The times you feel as though you have outgrown a certain space, or a relationship that has served its purpose, shows itself as a feeling of contraction or tension. This inner-contrast causes you to ask for something different or better. Within the asking is the answer given in the form of clearing away the things that are no longer aligned with
where you are asking to go to. This feels uncomfortable and requires inner-work for you to resolve the ideas and beliefs you have about that thing in order to clear it away.
This is you getting on that elevator. As the things around you are cleared away, new space in created within. Your energy has new focus as it has now surrendered to the process and you allow for new manifestations to be realized in your experience. The signs are around you, guiding you and letting you know you are on the right path. Yes, there’s discomfort, even elements of fear and uncertainty along the way. You are entering new territory and although you may appear the same, everything within and around
you is shifting. The moment you surrender to the experience, you will find new people, new opportunities, new realizations and insights shown to you on the other side. Opportunities you would not have been able to see otherwise, had you remained on the lower floor.
